Baptisms, Marriages and Burials
If you are resident within St Mary's parish, or if you are an active member of the congregation who lives outside the parish (generally you are likely to be on our Electoral Roll), you are entitled to these services. In all cases, please contact us to check, to find out details and to make the appropriate booking.
Baptisms are held at St Mary's once a month, usually on the second Sunday, at a special service at 11.30 am. This is limited to four families per service, as the parking in Church Road can get very crowded otherwise.
Wedding services have changed recently, with the implementation of Common Worship, which replaced the Alternative Service Book during 2000. You now have a much larger selection of prayers to choose from, for example; whilst the Rector will go through these with you during your interview, you may find it helpful to download the text - for example, in preparing your order of service.
