St Mary's Housekeeping

There is always an additional sum of money that must be raised at St Mary's in the course of the year to make up the shortfall between our anticipated income and expenditure.  The additional income needed is generated in various ways:

  • all profits from fundraising events (except where specifically designated for other purposes)

  • all monies received in the church "wall boxes" designated for church housekeeping

  • sponsorship of “housekeeping” items, such as communion wine, candles, flowers, telephone bills, rector’s expenses, etc.

There are many ways in which you could assist us.

  • purchasing one of the many items of merchandise on the tables under the tower, from tapes to tea-towels to recipe books to postcards

  • making a one-off donation, either to general church funds, or for a specific item

  • making a regular commitment to give money to St Mary's, either by joining the "envelope" stewardship scheme or by arranging for regular direct debit/standing order into our bank account

In all the above cases, if you are a regular UK tax-payer, by completing a pink form and one of the envelopes provided, you enable us to reclaim further money from the Inland Revenue, at no further cost to yourself.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact:

  • the Covenant Secretary, Heather Cosgrove, on 020 8647 9102 or by e-mail, regarding giving direct through the bank
  • the PCC Treasurer by e-mail, for general queries

Thank you!
